I became a Tutornova Mentor…

I love helping students find that ‘a ha!’ moment to enhance their learning.

One piece of advice for students with big dreams is…

‘Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.’ – Howard Thurman.

My biggest challenge in Year 12 was…

Managing school while competing as an athlete full-time.

I overcame this challenge by…

I was highly organised, committed to experiencing life, and dedicated to pursuing all of my passions without sacrificing my sense of self and happiness.

I’d describe my teaching style as…

Open, honest, inclusive, reciprocal, authentic, encouraging, patient, dedicated, and passionate.

If I could go back in time to when I was in high school I would tell myself…

‘Your life is a sacred journey. It is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your version of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way… You can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.’ – Caroline Adams.

I keep motivated through hard times by…

‘Be a lamp to yourself. Be your own confidence. Hold on to the truth within yourself as the only truth.’ – Buddha.

My philosophy is…

Per ardua ad astra.

My favourite productivity tool or app is…(and why)

The Pomodoro Timer.

When I’m not teaching, I’m usually…

Reading, writing for my personal blog, doing some yoga, stalking puppies to pat, eating cookies, watching Netflix, researching and pursuing my love of learning. I will always be a student of life!
